Today I will tell the tree of savior player about of the other swordie classes in PvE.

AoE Ratio is not size of AoE, only the amount of targets you can hit with the skill. Example. 10 Monsters with AoE Defense Ratio 1. If you use Earth wave on them, and all you have is 8 AoE Ratio, you will only hit 8 out of 10 monsters. The actual AoE of EW is decent, but in PVP its very easy to dodge.

looking the % sounds really good all its skills but for some reason they're still fake multihit... So basically only one hit with low % damage. Cata is completely useless in terms of DPS. Rush otherwise, is a multihit skill but with extremely low % damage.

they're scared of re-screwing Cata considering pre-revamp made it hard for people to do much against Catas. They essentially had damage, CC, durability, and uniquely being incredibly fast; which tbh made Cata's relevant in PvP but also PvE content as well. I remember one of the earliest accounts of a Swordie in high ET was a Catagoon, because of CC and decent damage with his equips.

125%*5 AoE Ratio 8 (knockdown toggle) on a 12 second cooldown is bad? I think 8 ratio is the highest of any swordie skill, shared with doom spike. Impaler is the only actually bad skill of the cataphract kit in my opinion, and it's still great in PvP. The rest are either okay or pretty good. Pretty on par compared to rodelero, corsair, barbarian, etc if you ask me, considering their AoE and mobility.

The AoE ratio is good, but no overheats + it's not a true multi-hit, which means blessing only applies once to it instead of 5x. Also, the actual damage number is pretty bad at lower ranks. It's 86% x 5 at L15.

That's a total of around 4600% damage on a 14s-ish CD with a huge AoE ratio -- the big downside being that you have to channel for a full 6.5 seconds. AND bear in mind that Blessing triggers on every hit of the spell, meaning the damage is astronomically higher than EW's, since you're getting like +2000 x 21 ticks, whereas EW is getting +2000 once divided by 5.

Assuming blessing only does tick once, running the same metrics: 15,625 PATK and 2,000 blessing, totaling 17,625 damage. Over a second and a half execution time, that's 11,750 DPS and over its cooldown time that's 1,469 DPS. If you don't count the charge up time (1.1s) as part of the execution time, we get a DPS score of 44,062 over a 0.4 second period.

Cataphract makes up for so many of the weaknesses of many other swordie classes. This is an important consideration of its kit. They are the most mobile class in the game. They have a high mobility cyclone caliber skill that combines beautifully with restrain and bonus damage.

The end result of casting each skill is that one does significantly more damage than the other over a 20 second period. Possession will also typically be cast at the end of a rotation due to the channeled nature of the skill. So your rotation might look like Hex > Divine Might > Cure > Heal x2 > ABE > Possession > Effigy x 3 on a boss.

If earthwave is part of a rotation, this is exactly how you have to look at it. If in one situation a sadhu approaches an enemy and possessions them for 6.5 seconds and another situation a cataphract approaches an enemy and earth waves, thrusts, and double slash*3 in those same 6.5 seconds, you're going to get a DPS readout that looks much more like my math than yours.

The point remains. You need to consider all the facets of the class rather than just the DPS readout that fits whatever playstyle you're capable of. The sadhu heals, the cataphract approaches the enemy faster. The sadhu safety walls, the cataphract knocks the threat down.

Possession is used to end the rotation when everything else is on cooldown anyway, so you're not losing any DPS during the 6.5s channel. Not to mention EW has a 1.1s charge-up time to begin with, so it's only a 5.4s difference regardless. In a rotation, Possession occupies the same position that Rush does, but it does higher damage in a shorter period, has a better AoE ratio (14 targets VS AoE Ratio 3), and less than half the cooldown. Not to mention it's available at R5 instead of R6.

As a sadhu, or a highlander, or a wugushi, or any other r4~r6, you're not going to move as fast, you're not going to have the same ability to knockdown, and you're going to have a different skill rotation as a cataphract.

Put a swordie3>cataphract and a bokor>sadhu in a number of situations, and the outcome will play out very differently. An easy dungeon run, a hard one, an ET run, a PvP match, farming in a field, etc.

The movespeed is a completely moot point in endgame farming or instanced content where mob density is high, and you're not wandering across maps from objective to objective -- especially when you need to wait for the rest of your party to catch up anyway. High movespeed is only significant in PvP or questing situations (less relevant with instance grinding + tomes/cookies being a thing now).
